With the club's midweek time trial championship and Go-Ride sessions starting this week Wyre Forest CRC will get their Summer season under way.  Two riders already in action in an early season race were Dave Wood and Jon Howard who rode the Echelon/VTTA promoted 10 miles time trial near Salford Priors last weekend.  From an entry of 95 riders Dave finished 25th with the excellent time of 23-05 with Jon close behind recording 23-25 for 31st place.  Fastest rider on the day was Jon Simpkins from the sponsored team drag2zero with a time of 20-21.

Several Wyre Forest CRC riders started their racing season last weekend with a time trial ride.  Despite their training being disrupted by the recent poor weather the tandem duo of Chris Morris and Phil Hunt continued where they left off last year with an excellent ride in the Hinckley CRC promoted 25 miles time trial held at Wolvey near Lutterworth.  The race for tandems and teams of two riders was held on a tough undulating course in chilly weather conditions, but the Wyre Forest duo made light work of the conditions finishing over two minutes clear of the next tandem riders in a time of 55-57 which placed them 3rd overall.  Winners were the 2up pairing of Daniel Barnett and Matt Sinclair with a time of 54-19.  Riding as a 2up Andy Overton teamed up with Phil's brother Andy from Ystwyth CC and finished 14th overall in a time of 1 hour 1 minute and 7 seconds.
