Cyclocross - Emile Alexander

Emile Alexander was a busy lad over the festive period.

On 18th December he rode round 10 of the U10 WMCCL at Cannock Chase and finished a clear second to Dan Barnes of Lichfield. This saw Emile establish a slender lead of seven points  ahead of Solihull's Jack Rootkin-Gray in the overall standings.

At the Coventry Road Club Boxing Day Cross at Kenilworth, Emile crashed on the second lap in the U10's whilst contesting the lead, badly grazing his leg. However he still desperately wanted to race and quickly entered the U12 race where he finished a gutsy 2nd on a tougher course against older, more experienced riders.

On New Years Day, Emile rode round 11 of the U10 WMCCL, organised by ex WFCRC member Mark Leyland at Top Barn, north of Worcester. Emile finished a strong and determined first, almost a minute clear of second placed Lichfield rival Dan Barnes. With Jack Rootkin-Gray finishing 4th, this has established Emile's lead in the series overall.

Emile is looking forward to his seasons three remaining outings - the WMCCL races at Wolverhampton and Sedgely and the National Trophy U12 at Shrewsbury.
